Why am I creating a website for our English Composition I course? I am creating a website to creating a portfolio of my assignment throughout my English composition class. To track my growth as a writer and ways I can improve in writing over the semester. How do Ball and Charlton define "multimodal" writing? Ball and Charlton defines all writing as multimodal. Multimodal means multiple and mode, a way to make meaning or communicating. Multimodal writing can be Linguistic, Aural, Visual, Gestural, and spatial Do you agree with Ball and Charlton when they claim "all writing is multimodal"? I agree with ball and Charlton that all writing are multimodal. People have different ways of writing and reading. For example when ball and Charlton said multimodal writing can be linguistic, Aural, visual, gestural and spatial. As a web site author who will create your own web page content in this course, how would you rank the importance of the five modes on a scale of 1-5? Please provide a brief rationale to support each mode ranking. When I look up the meaning of the five modes scale. I will have to rate Visual as number one because most often we connect with a picture, title something we see that grabs our attentions. Spatial and Aural are kinder the same and will have to be number two and three because we often read thing that we can relate and can keep our attentions. Linguistic will have to be number third because language play a big part in keeping our interest. Language often set the tone of a story and Gestural will be the fifth because we picture the way the author is moving and taking us on the journey when we read. What does the C.R.A.P. acronym stand for? C. in crap means to created Contrast and making something stand out. R. means Repetition making the header and the footer the same color. That it’s easier to scan when thing are same color or bulleting. A.is Alignment, columns within a page make it easier to scan horizontally and makes things easier to read. P. means Proximity that things are associated with one another or not. As a web site author who will create your own web page content in this course, how would you rank the importance of the four C.R.A.P. principles of design on a scale of 1-5? Please provide a brief rationale to support each design principle ranking. Contrast will be number one, when something stands out it offend get your attentions. Alignment will be number two because when thing are easy to read and understand it keeps your interest. Proximity will be third because things will have to be organized and give me a set of directions. Repetition will have to be last because am not sure of having the same thing repeating over and over will help. What are the seven sample criteria Borton and Huot suggest writers use to assess a multimodal position? The seven criteria Borton and Huot suggested are Audience, Tone, Detail, Purpose, Transitions, Synthesizing information, and Organization. Do the Borton-and-Huot criteria seem similar or different from the criteria we would use to assess a traditional print essay? Why or why not? The Borton-and Huot criteria seem similar because its the same for multimodal work is used for traditional print work. Which is the same we used in regular print essays
